OSE symposia on the topic of software escrow
In its articles of association, the Organisation pro Software Escrow e.V. (OSE) has set itself the task of ensuring an appropriate legal framework for software escrow in Germany and helping to create binding legal certainty.
The background to this is the debate on legal theory surrounding the insolvency-proof nature of escrow, which has been ongoing for years and has recently become increasingly intense.
In fulfilment of this self-imposed task, the OSE organised a symposium for the first time on 19 May 2006 on current legal developments in the area of software escrow, taking particular account of recent court decisions. This first symposium was followed by many more.
Participants at this event were lawyers and representatives of the legal profession who have published on the subject of software escrow or who are active in this field in practice or academically.
Due to the very positive response, the OSE Symposium in Munich were hold in January with an extended range of topics and participants. The 20th OSE Symposium took place on 31.01.25 in Munich (see blog post for programme and registration). In addition, the OSE Summer Talk has been held in Berlin every summer for several years.
