CSW Rechtsanwälte is a boutique law firm with an international focus, which emerged from the law firm SSW on June 1, 2020 and operates together with SSW Treuhand- und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH under the name CSW. The 12 founding partners of CSW include Isabell Conrad, Prof. Dr. Jochen Schneider and Sabine Weihermüller. The law firm has a strong focus on commercial law, particularly in the field of digitalization, and deliberately concentrates on one location (Munich), but is active throughout Germany and internationally.

The advice in IT and data protection law covers all areas of IT contract law, software development, IT projects, cloud computing (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, XaaS), big data and IoT and AI, open source software, data protection in connection with all digitalization phenomena (in the public and non-public sector), IT security, copyright and trademark law, e-commerce, telemedia and telecommunications law, IT procurement law as well as IT law issues relating to employment, tax, finance, corporate and criminal law. This also includes technology issues from the areas of financial and insurance supervisory law, such as the conception of payment services or outsourcing. In addition to IT law issues, CSW also provides ongoing advice on corporate law, employment law, copyright and media law, trademark law, financial supervisory law, tax law and criminal law.

CSW maintains relationships with other specialized law firms abroad, in particular in Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, India, China and Hong Kong.

All of the firm’s lawyers regularly publish in specialist journals and books and give lectures on issues of ITC, data protection and public procurement law, including at specialist conferences and in-house training courses.

Prof. Schneider is an honorary professor at the University of Munich and, among other things, editor and co-author of the Handbuch des EDV-Rechts, 5th edition 2017, editor of ITRB (IT-Rechtsberater), co-editor of ZD (Zeitschrift für Datenschutz) and member of the editorial board of CR (Computer und Recht). Ms. Conrad is co-editor of the Handbook of IT and Data Protection Law, 3rd edition 2019, member of the scientific advisory board of the journal ZD, member of the legislative committee on information law of the DAV (German Bar Association) and since 2013 member of the EU Expert Group on Cloud Computing Contracts of the EU Commission on behalf of the DAV.
